About us
In 2014, Cyrus Claffey set out to improve the safety, experience, and operations of the places where people live, work, and visit. He saw an opportunity to use the power and convenience of smartphones to make property access simple.
Since then, ButterflyMX has evolved from a video intercom into a unified property access and security platform. Today, our platform brings together video intercoms, access control, security cameras, keypads, vehicle access, package rooms, smart locks, elevator controls, visitor management, and more — giving property teams one system to manage access and security across their entire property.
ButterflyMX helps owners and operators manage access remotely, strengthen security, simplify operations, and deliver a seamless experience for residents, tenants, visitors, staff, and vendors. By integrating with the property management, access control, smart lock, and other systems properties already use, ButterflyMX helps automate everyday workflows such as move-ins and move-outs, visitor access, package management, and self-guided tours.
Today, more than 20,000 properties use ButterflyMX to simplify operations, improve the property experience, and make access secure.
