In a few sentences, tell us about what you do here at ButterflyMX.
As a product manager, I collaborate with engineering, design, and several other teams to deliver enhancements and solutions for our products. I mainly focus on Front Desk Station, a cloud-based software that helps property staff manage visitor access and communicate with residents more efficiently. I make sure Front Desk Station meets our clients’ needs by collecting feedback from them and our customer-facing teams and then using insights from the feedback to drive improvements.
What’s your favorite part about working at ButterflyMX?
My favorite part about working at ButterflyMX is the people I get to work with! Everyone at the company is talented, highly collaborative, and focused on creating the best experience possible for our clients.
It’s very rewarding to work at a company full of people who are passionate about their work and the value it creates.
What’s the most significant thing you’ve learned while working here?
The most significant thing I’ve learned while working here (so far) is that there are many use cases for ButterflyMX products. I have been surprised to learn how many ways our product suite can be adapted to fit a variety of situations, from individual buildings to gated communities with hundreds of residences. It’s an incredibly flexible product suite!
What’s your proudest accomplishment so far during your time at ButterflyMX?
Since I’ve just gotten up to speed in my role, I’m just starting to take full ownership of my product areas. I’m very proud of our new version of Front Desk Station and what’s to come in the near future! I think Front Desk Station’s new features and capabilities will be a game changer for property staff.
I’m excited to keep expanding and improving this product as we uncover more insights from our clients; there are a lot of opportunities and directions it can go!
Tell us about your favorite day/event at ButterflyMX. What makes it so special/memorable?
Every day at ButterflyMX is a great day! One of my favorite days was the day I got to connect with our founder, Cyrus Claffey, for a coffee chat. He is so passionate about both the proptech industry and the culture at ButterflyMX!
I’ve learned a lot from him about how he founded ButterflyMX, how ButterflyMX became an industry leader, and where it may go in the future. I appreciate Cyrus’s enthusiasm and excitement; I can tell he cares about the company’s culture and ensuring we grow in the right way as an organization.
What has been the best part about working remotely? The most challenging?
The best part about working remotely is the ability to optimize my day based on my productivity habits. I’m most productive in the mornings and evenings, so I’ll often find myself scheduling meetings and doing focus work during those times.
The most challenging part about working remotely is building relationships with colleagues. It feels a lot less lonely to work at a new place if you take the time to genuinely connect with others and learn more about them, so I’m making an effort to get to know the people I work with through regular coffee chats and virtual huddles.
