Secured growth equity investment from FTV Capital
This year, ButterflyMX secured a significant growth equity investment from FTV Capital, a firm with deep expertise in vertical software and tech-enabled hardware. This investment is accelerating new product development and fueling our expansion into new markets, solidifying our leadership in property access and security.
FTV’s partnership allows us to move even faster toward our mission of simplifying property access from the front entrance to every door, gate, and elevator in a building.
As our CEO, Aaron Rudenstine, shared, this milestone marks “the next chapter in building solutions that automate operations and make property ownership and management more affordable.” We’re proud to have FTV Capital, along with co-investors Lead Edge Capital and Fifth Wall, supporting our vision for the future.
Launched the QR Code Intercom
We also introduced our newest product, the QR Code Intercom, delivering smart, simple, and secure property access at a lower cost. Designed for any property type, from HOAs and condos to commercial and gated communities, this innovation makes ButterflyMX more accessible than ever.
With the QR Code Intercom, visitors simply scan a laser-etched QR code to contact residents or staff via a one-way video call, no app required. Property teams can then grant access from anywhere through the ButterflyMX mobile app, reducing friction while improving visibility and control.
Released new integrations with Yale, EliseAI, Android Watch, & more
In 2025, we strengthened our open ecosystem with powerful integrations that enhance automation, security, and the resident experience.
ButterflyMX and EliseAI are transforming self-guided tours. When prospects schedule a tour through EliseAI, they automatically receive a ButterflyMX Visitor Pass for secure, app-free property access. Each entry is logged with a time- and date-stamped photo, creating a seamless and secure leasing experience.
Our integration with Yale Pro 2 Bluetooth and WiFi smart locks enables residents to unlock building entrances and unit doors directly from the ButterflyMX app. This creates a truly unified, keyless experience without requiring building-wide WiFi.
In addition to new integrations with EliseAI and Yale, access became even more convenient this year with the addition of Android Watch to our Smart Watch integrations. Residents and staff can now open doors and gates, view access points, and receive visitor call notifications directly from their wrist.
Together, these integrations empower property teams to save time, improve visibility, and provide a smoother experience for residents and visitors alike.

We also opened new offices in Toronto and Southern California, strengthening our presence and ability to serve customers across North America.
