  • Position: VP, Business Development
  • Start Date: April 12, 2021

In a few sentences, tell us about what you do here at ButterflyMX.

I lead partnerships and integrations, overseeing all of the relationships we have with the companies that ButterflyMX is integrated with. This ranges from Sync, to adding ButterflyMX to third party apps, to intricate direct customer integrations.

What’s your favorite part about working at ButterflyMX?

I get to speak to a lot of companies across our industry. It’s amazing to regularly hear how well respected ButterflyMX is, all thanks to the amazing people who have built this business.

What’s the most significant thing you’ve learned while working here?

Proptech is a huge but often slow moving industry due to the need to install physical hardware, so timing is everything. Being able to align with where our clients and integration partners are in their business is paramount to our success. We can’t go too fast or too slow, it has to be just right.

Emily Kubec and the product team meet up in New York City.

What’s your proudest accomplishment so far during your time at ButterflyMX?

All of the custom third-party partners I’ve helped integrate ButterflyMX functionality to serve our end customers. I love seeing a plan come together.

Tell us about your favorite day/event at ButterflyMX. What makes it so special/memorable?

First trip to the NY office back at our previous location on W 26th. We got a group of 15 people together (a lot at the time!) to all go out to lunch. It was my first time having face time with many people I worked with daily. Was amazing to make all those personal connections.

What has been the best part about working remotely? The most challenging?

I have two little kids (1 & 3). The ability to spend more time with them because I do not have a commute has been absolutely amazing.

It’s been challenging at times to make personal connections with people that can help to get tasks done. A quick pop-in to someone’s desk or randomly bumping into someone in the kitchen to check in on a task becomes more difficult.

3 fun facts about Evan

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Boston, I’m right where I want to live! Travel is a different story, though. I’ve traveled to 20+ countries across six continents, but I still have a long list of places I want to see.

Do you have a secret talent (*cough* superpower) you want people to know about?

Woodworking. I’ve completely taken over my two-car garage with a full-on woodshop. I like to think I can build anything 🙂

What is your favorite thing to do after work or on the weekends?

Getting outdoors with the family. Going hiking in spring and fall, snowboarding in the winter, or heading to the beach in the summer tops the list.
