Travel tips

The National Apartment Association picks a trendy, lively city to hold Apartmentalize. And in 2024, Apartmentalize comes to the city of brotherly love: Philadelphia!

Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania, but its many parks, trees, and lush greenery give it a small-town feel. As the birthplace of America, Philadelphia is home to many historic sites, making it a great place to explore when you’re not attending panels.

When picking the area you stay in, think about how far your hotel of choice is from the conference. Staying within walking distance will save you money on ride-share expenses and will put you in a lively area of the city.

Making the most of your time in town is key at any conference, and Apartmentalize is no different. So, to make the most of your time at Apartmentalize, you’ll want to be able to get from the conference center to your hotel quickly. Picking the best hotel for your trip can be hard, so NAA put together an official hotel map that highlights the best hotels around the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Keep in mind that Philadelphia is a busy tourist destination during the summer, so you should book your stay soon!

Tips for making the most of your time at Apartmentalize

Preparing for an informative and important event like Apartmentalize can be difficult, especially if you don’t get a head start.

Before you leave, consider what you’re going to wear and bring to the show while you’re packing. NAA doesn’t offer a specific dress code for Apartmentalize, but we recommend business casual attire. You’ll be walking a lot, to and from the convention center and between sessions, so we’ve found that wearing comfortable shoes is a must. And no matter the weather, large meeting rooms are bound to get chilly, so it’s a great idea to bring a light jacket if you get cold.

If there’s one thing we know about Apartmentalize, it’s that you’ll gain lots of new knowlendge, ideas, and inspiration. Beyond dressing comfortably and appropriately, we recommend that you bring something to take notes with. You’re bound to hear plenty of new information and ideas you’ll want to jot down.

Apartmentalize is welcoming more than 400 companies to exhibit this year, meaning you’ll have plenty of opportunities to discover new services and products. But because walking into a busy exhibitor floor can be intimidating, we recommend that you take some time before the conference to read over the registered exhibitor guide to figure out which companies will be attending so you can assess the booths you’d like to see. Once you’ve done this and you have an idea of what you’re looking to learn at Apartmentalize, you can pick the sessions that will best benefit you during your time there.

But keep in mind, because Apartmentalize is an event with so much to offer, having a plan is great, but you should also stay flexible and keep an eye out for new opportunities that arise while you’re there.
