In a few sentences, tell us about what you do here at ButterflyMX.
I collaborate with our Client Success Managers to support the needs of our clients by maintaining documentation on product offerings, resolving common client issues, and internal tools. I also work on the backend of our systems to ensure that client data remains up-to-date and available for analysis.
One of my favorite parts of the role is being able to serve as a cross-functional partner to various departments such as Sales, Product, and Support to tackle both client-facing and internal issues so that ButterflyMX can become the optimal solution in the proptech industry.
What’s your favorite part about working at ButterflyMX?
The people! I am incredibly fortunate to have a manager who supports my professional development and encourages continual growth while also approaching me as a person first. I feel confident coming to her with any concerns that I have knowing that she will respond with empathy.
This extends broadly to the Client Success team in the interactions that I’ve witnessed among my coworkers, who exemplify our company value of customer first, always when addressing the diverse needs of our clients.
What’s the most significant thing you’ve learned while working here?
This is my first official role working in the tech industry in a non-educational capacity as my formal training and background is in education administration.
The ways we leverage different tools and platforms to automate and personalize client interactions has been fascinating to learn and develop. I have learned to adopt the mindset of “how can we use technology/AI to our advantage when working with clients” so that our team is efficient at what we do.
What’s your proudest accomplishment so far during your time at ButterflyMX?
My manager and I partnered with Vitally, an external client success platform, to adopt this tool for our department. This allowed us to automate multiple forms of outreach that our Client Success Managers were doing manually while also empowering us to initiate new forms of outreach that were previously unsustainable to do long-term, given the continued growth in the number of buildings using ButterflyMX.
Vitally also optimized workflows for tracking client escalations, leading to faster resolution times and the ability to visualize data on the types of escalations our clients were bringing forth. We are continuously working with our own Vitally Client Success Manager to brainstorm other ways we can use the platform to make the lives of our Client Success Managers simpler and their efforts more effective.
Tell us about your favorite day/event at ButterflyMX. What makes it so special/memorable?
The first department call I had was surprising in the best of ways. The person who was in this role before me was transitioning to a different team at ButterflyMX, but throughout the course of the week, he would ask me questions to get to know me better as an individual. I thought that was his way of being friendly with me, but little did I know that he was gathering the information I gave him to create a personalized welcome slide to introduce me to the entire team. I later learned that this is a tradition for all new hires in our department, and I’ve been fortunate to offer the same experience to some of our most recent new hires.
What has been the best part about working remotely? The most challenging?
The best part about working remotely is that there is an implicit understanding that people will generally be at their computers or have notifications on during the day, so whenever I need something from an individual, they’ll generally respond to me pretty promptly. I find that this accelerates the tempo at which we’re able to work which is huge for allowing us to support our clients.
The most challenging part, and I say this as a people-person, is that I don’t get that personalized face time with my team to talk about things work-related or not. Feeling like I’m part of a community is important for where I work, so I’m looking forward to future opportunities for company or department on-sites where we can be together.

Fun facts about Jeffrey
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I’d love to live in the UK for a change. It feels like it would be a great change of scenery from the US while also maintaining some cultural and linguistic similarities so I don’t feel completely lost trying to navigate my way with the locals.
Do you have a secret talent (*cough* superpower) you want people to know about?
I can play the Korean drums! I took classes in high school and have performed at parades and music festivals in Los Angeles, most notably at the Korean Times Music Festival that took place at the Hollywood Bowl.
What is your favorite thing to do after work or on the weekends?
I am a gamer at heart, so I enjoy kicking back with my online friends while playing video games together and chatting on Discord.
