In a few sentences, tell us about what you do here at ButterflyMX.
I lead the Channel Sales team at ButterflyMX, driving the growth and success of our Partner Program among security and technology integrators across North America. My focus is on expanding our partner network, equipping them with the tools and resources to be successful when leading with ButterflyMX solutions for their customers. By strengthening these partnerships, I aim to maximize market share and position ButterflyMX as the go-to access control platform in the industry.
What’s your favorite part about working at ButterflyMX?
My favourite part about working at ButterflyMX has to be the people. Everyone is so welcoming, collaborative, and passionate about building this company, and revolutionizing the proptech space.
In addition to that, I have the pleasure of working closely with our Director of Channel Operations, Frank Frehill. Having an operations focused partner, while building our Channel has been a major bonus.
What’s the most significant thing you’ve learned while working here?
I’d have to say how much more I can get done in a day by leveraging AI. So many tasks, and projects that I have worked on in the past which took up a lot of my day, can now be completed in a fraction of the time when I leverage ChatGPT.
What’s your proudest accomplishment so far during your time at ButterflyMX?
One of my proudest accomplishments at ButterflyMX has been strengthening our channel sales strategy by adding substance, structure, and clear direction to an existing framework, aligning the broader organization on our goals.
I introduced partner tiering and additional benefits, creating a more structured and rewarding program that incentivizes growth and deepens engagement.
Tell us about your favorite day/event at ButterflyMX. What makes it so special/memorable?
My favorite event so far has to be our kickoff in Florida—an unforgettable experience where I met my team in person for the first time and connected with colleagues from across the organization.
The offsite planning committee absolutely nailed it, but the real highlight? Casino night. I’ve never seen a group so excited to gamble with fake money — it was pure energy and nonstop fun! Also, never take Frank into a Casino. I didn’t know it was possible to lose 20 hands of blackjack in a row.

Fun facts about Joseph
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Squamish, British Columbia. I spend at least a week there every year with my wife, just hiking the days away, disconnected from work, enjoying nature, and each other’s company.
Do you have a secret talent (*cough* superpower) you want people to know about?
I can hold a headstand for an indefinite amount of time. Something I developed when I wrestled in high school.
What is your favorite thing to do after work or on the weekends?
If you would have asked me this question a few years ago, I’d say spending time with my wife and dog, skiing, mountain biking, or some type of sport, but nowadays nothing beats spending time with my son.
