In a few sentences, tell us about what you do here at ButterflyMX.
I’m on the data team, and a big part of what we do is provide an insightful and approachable analytics experience for our colleagues. My job is to equip folks with information to understand the business and make better decisions.
What’s your favorite part about working at ButterflyMX?
The people 🙂
What’s the most significant thing you’ve learned while working here?
People management! This is something pretty new to me and it’s still a work in progress, but has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my career.
What’s your proudest accomplishment so far during your time at ButterflyMX?
Building a modern data stack. We’ve implemented an ELT framework that has positioned us for success and flexibility.
Tell us about your favorite day/event at ButterflyMX. What makes it so special/memorable?
The data team got together in New York last June for a team onsite. This was the first time we were all in a (real) room together! Two of us live in the LA area, one in Brooklyn, and another in Paris. Our team holds virtual happy hour get-togethers, but the onsite was really special since we could work and hang out together in person.
What has been the best part about working remotely? The most challenging?
I’ve really enjoyed the flexibility that comes with remote work. Being able to do things like stepping out for a quick errand or hitting the gym after lunch has been a life changer. The most challenging aspect of working remotely has been the inability to see my team on a daily basis.

Fun facts about Ken
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I’m not sure! I haven’t been to most of the places I’m interested in, but I can tell you that I’ve enjoyed my time in Hanoi and Amsterdam.
Do you have a secret talent (*cough* superpower) you want people to know about?
I really, really like gardening.
What is your favorite thing to do after work or on the weekends?
Go on a bike ride and explore an unfamiliar neighborhood or place.
