In a few sentences, tell us about what you do here at ButterflyMX.

I manage our social media presence and create content across all platforms, from daily posts to short-form videos and our weekly LinkedIn newsletter. I also monitor and engage with our audience, source user-generated content, and keep a close eye on what’s happening in the multifamily space. On the PR side, I look for opportunities to elevate our brand and handle inbound communications to help share the ButterflyMX story.

What’s your favorite part about working at ButterflyMX?

My favorite part about working at ButterflyMX is the people, and I truly mean it! Starting my career here right out of college, I’ve been surrounded by colleagues who champion my growth and push me to get better every day. Everyone is humble, driven, and incredibly sharp, creating an environment where learning is constant and success feels shared.

What’s the most significant thing you’ve learned while working here?

The biggest thing I’ve learned at ButterflyMX is the value of continuously improving. Marketing team leadership pushes our team to stay curious, challenge ourselves, and never coast, whether that means exploring new technology, adopting better tools, or staying ahead of industry trends. It’s a mindset that’s shaped how I approach my work every day.

What’s your proudest accomplishment so far during your time at ButterflyMX?

My proudest accomplishment at ButterflyMX has been growing our social media audience. When I first joined, we had around 15,000 followers. Today, we’ve built a community of more than 120,000 people across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X. It represents years of intentional work to create the strongest online community of property managers, partners, residents, and industry leaders.

Tell us about your favorite day/event at ButterflyMX. What makes it so special/memorable?

My favorite day at ButterflyMX was OPTECH 2023. I had spent months preparing my first major product launch on the communications side, and we announced it at the conference. Seeing the reaction in person was incredibly rewarding; after all the behind-the-scenes work, watching people interact with the new hardware on the floor in Vegas made the whole experience unforgettable.

Fun facts about Lauren

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

If I could live anywhere in the world, I’d choose London without hesitation. I lived in London throughout the pandemic, and while it was an untraditional experience, it taught me how to make the most of challenging circumstances. I explored the city almost entirely on foot, spent countless days baking and picnicking with my flatmates, and got to enjoy London’s landmarks without the usual crowds. Some of my closest friends still live there, and I’d love to return one day and reunite with them.

Do you have a secret talent (*cough* superpower) you want people to know about?

My secret talent is being able to identify songs or artists almost instantly. I have a really good ear for music, which I inherited from my Dad. Whenever I’m back home in North Carolina, we team up to compete in music bingo at our favorite brewery, and we can usually guess the track within the first 2-3 seconds.

What is your favorite thing to do after work or on the weekends?

On the weekends, I love meeting up with friends for brunch and spending time exploring D.C., whether that’s going to concerts, shopping, or discovering a new coffee shop. I’m also a big sports fan, so you can usually find me watching football or basketball whenever the Hokies, Ravens, or Washington Mystics are playing!
