We built the QR Code Intercom to simplify property access and security.
Instead of relying entirely on the purchase and installation of traditional access control hardware, you can now quickly and easily mount a beautifully designed plaque displaying a laser-etched QR code at any door, gate, or garage where you’d like to provide property access.

How the QR Code Intercom works
Installation
Installation is simple and can be done in six easy steps.
Mount the QR plaque using adhesive or screws. Pair it with the ButterflyMX 2-Door Access Controller and manage everything from the ButterflyMX Mobile App or OS.
Visitor Experience
Step 1: Scan the QR code.
Visitors approach the building and scan the laser-etched QR code plaque using their smartphone.
Step 2: Launch web-based intercom.
A secure web page opens instantly; no mobile app required.
Step 3: Search the directory.
Guests can find the property staff or residents by unit number or by scrolling through a searchable list.
Step 4: Place a video call.
Visitor initiates a one-way video call with two-way audio to the property staff or resident.
Step 5: Grant property access.
Property staff or resident sees who’s at the door or gate and taps “Unlock” in the ButterflyMX mobile app to grant property access.
Step 6: Entry granted.
The door or gate unlocks, and the entry is captured with a time- and date-stamped photo that is saved in the ButterflyMX OS for 365 days.
