In recent years, iPhone users have come to rely on widgets to quickly access certain functionalities in their favorite apps, which makes their lives more convenient. And when looking to add convenience to your life, unlocking doors into and throughout your property should be a top priority.
With ButterflyMX, you can add a widget to the home screen or side menu of your iPhone so you can unlock your doors faster, without even having to open up the ButterflyMX app. Read this post to learn how to add a ButterflyMX widget to your iPhone.
How to create a ButterflyMX widget on your iPhone
- Open the ButterflyMX app
- Select the door you’d like to open with a widget
- Tap ‘Add to Siri’
- Click ‘Done’
- Click and hold down on any app and then hit ‘Edit Home Screen’
- Click the ‘+’ icon in the top left hand corner
- Search for the Shortcuts app
- Click ‘Add Widget’
Step 1: Open the ButterflyMX app
Open up the ButterflyMX mobile app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Select the door you’d like to open with a widget
On the homepage of the app, you’ll click on the door that you’d like to create a widget shortcut for.
Step 3: Tap ‘Add to Siri’
Tap ‘Add to Siri’.
Step 4: Click ‘Done’
Click ‘Done.’ At this point, you’ll also be able to unlock your front entrance by asking Siri.
Step 5: Click and hold down on any app and then hit ‘Edit Home Screen’
Click and hold down any app on your home screen, just like you would to move apps around. A menu will pop up from app. Select ‘Edit Home screen’ from the menu.
Step 6: Click the ‘+’ icon in the top left hand corner
At this point, your apps should be shaking on the home screen. Click the ‘+’ icon in the top left hand corner of the screen to add a new widget to your home screen.
Step 8: Search for the Shortcuts app
Search for the Shortcuts app. Click on it once it appears.
Step 9: Click ‘Add Widget’
Here, you should see the ‘Unlock Front Entrance’ shortcut that you created in steps 2-4. Click ‘Add Widget’ to add this as a widget to your iPhone home screen.
Now you should have the ButterflyMX shortcut widget on your smartphone. From here you can simply tap the widget to open your door.
Be sure to move the widget around to be in the most convenient spot on your home screen for you.
