ButterflyMX’s video intercom directory has a touchscreen display, meaning you can update it at any time. This also means you can choose what name you want your unit to be associated with on the intercom directory.

Here are a few of the instances in which you might want to change your display name:

• The official name on your lease is Kaitlyn, but anyone who would be visiting you knows you as Katie
• You’re a private person and only want to show your first name and last name initial
• You just got married and changed your name

• You must have a ButterflyMX account.
• You must have the ButterflyMX app on iOS or Android

How to change how your name appears on the ButterflyMX intercom directory:

1. Open up the ButterflyMX app
2. Press ‘Account’
3. Click on your name
4. Edit your name

Step 1: Open up the ButterflyMX app

Open up the ButterflyMX app on your smartphone.

Step 2: Press ‘Account’

Press ‘Account’ in the bottom right corner.

Step 3: Click on your name

Click on your name at the top of the Account page.

Step 4: Edit your name

Edit your name to what you want to display when someone searches for you or your unit in the directory. Hit ‘Save’.

The name you enter is what visitors will see when they search for your name or your unit on the ButterflyMX intercom directory. You can change it at any time in the ButterflyMX app.
